Police Arrest Carjacking Suspect After High Speed Chase
DENVER (CBS4) - What started as a robbery ended in a high speed chase at South Colorado Boulevard and East Tennessee Avenue.
A suspect wanted for carjacking in northeast Denver was spotted several times by officers in Lakewood and Denver on Monday.
Tuesday morning at about 1:17, Denver police pursued the vehicle eastbound on Alameda Avenue then southbound on Colorado Boulevard.
It ended with a Pit maneuver, where the front of a police car makes contact with the suspect vehicle. Speeds reached 75 mph and the suspect vehicle hit 5 parked cars, coming to a stop in front of the Belcaro Motel.
Two people were taken into custody shortly after 1:30 a.m. and taken to Denver Health with non-life threatening injuries.
Southbound Colorado Boulevard was reopened at about 5:45 a.m.
