RTD Approves New Fare Structure

DENVER (CBS4) - RTD approved changes to their fare structure after an open meeting on Tuesday night.

It's a large overhaul that will include "day passes," the replacement for transfers as we know them. It will allow as many trips as you want for the price of a round trip ticket.

The price for a monthly pass will increase from $79 to $99. The new fare charges will begin in January of next year (2016).

RTD is increasing rates as it prepares to open five new light rail lines.
