Man Shoots At Security Guard At Rocky Vista Univeristy

PARKER, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Parker searched for a man who shot at a Rocky Vista University security guard on Monday night.

About 10:16 p.m. Monday Parker Police rushed to reports of shots fired at Rocky Vista University located at 8401 S. Chambers Road in Parker. When they arrived, they met with a security guard who had been shot at.

The security guard told police he had interrupted a criminal trespass, or a vehicle break-in, in progress in one of the school parking lots.

When the suspect was confronted by the security guard, he ran away and shot at him three times. The security guard was unarmed. He wasn't struck and immediately called 911 to report the incident.

Several agencies responded to help search for the suspect. Douglas County Sheriff's Office K-9 Units tried to find him but were unsuccessful. A CodeRed was sent out to some 2,100 phone lines in the area to inform residents and businesses about the suspect search.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-10 or 5-foot-11, with short hair and wearing dark clothing.
