ERIE, Colo. (CBS4) – Several controlled burns took place on Colorado’s Front Range on Monday, including one in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge and in Weld County just north of Erie.
Firefighters in other districts were on alert Monday as most of Colorado is under a Red Flag Warning.
Hot temperatures and high winds are the perfect ingredients for a wildfire. Crews are trying to get rid of dry fuels before the weather really heats up.
