Amy Van Dyken Takes Some Assisted Steps

(CBS4) - Amy Van Dyken took some assisted steps this week.

The beloved Colorado sports figure posted a photo on her Instagram page on Friday that shows her using some high tech medical technology that is allowing her to take a short walk. She joked that she has "graduated to crutches."

Van Dyken was injured in June 2014 in an ATV accident near her Arizona home and came to Colorado's Craig Hospital to work on her recovery. The accident left her bound to a wheelchair.

Van Dyken attended Colorado State University in the 1990s and was a swimming sensation. She won six Olympic gold medals during competition in the 1996 and 2000 games.
