Police Say Wrong-Way Driver Killed On I-70 Near Deer Trail
DEER TRAIL, Colo. (CBS4) - A man was killed in a car crash near Deer Trail Saturday night.
Eastbound Interstate 70 had to be closed for the investigation after police said a driver was going the wrong way, causing the crash.
"The vehicle struck a vehicle nearly head-on, and then a semi struck the vehicle shortly after that," Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josiah Li said.
The wrong-way driver, whose name hasn't been released, was killed.
The driver in the SUV that was hit head-on suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The driver in the semi wasn't seriously injured.
I-70 was closed for about 4 hours.
