An acquaintance of Velasquez, identified by police as Colleen Marie Loris, 43, was booked into the Gilpin County Jail late Tuesday afternoon for second-degree murder and other charges related to the incident.

Police said there were several other people in the room when the 911 call came in around 6 a.m. They were held for questioning for most of the day.

One police officer told CBS4's Jeff Todd that she's been working in Black Hawk 12 years and it's the first homicide case she's been involved in.
