COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) – The El Paso County Sheriff has apologized for his behavior but says he has no intention of resigning.
Sheriff Terry Maketa spoke about the allegations against him for the first time on Saturday in a video apology to his department. Maketa reportedly had inappropriate relationships with his subordinates.READ MORE: When I See A 50% Chance Of Rain In The Forecast, What Does That Really Mean?
In the video Maketa admitted he “engaged in inappropriate behavior in the past.”

The video was posted on an internal website for sheriff’s office employees after a Colorado Springs Gazette report came out about sexual impropriety, discrimination and a hostile work environment.
County commissioners unanimously agreed Maketa should step down but he can only be removed through a recall vote.
