Police Arrest Suspect After Woman Found Dead

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - Deputies in Arapahoe County arrested a man outside an apartment building overnight after a woman was found dead inside one of the apartments.

Police said an emergency call came in at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday from a person who overheard a man say he had just killed someone.

Authorities then responded to the East Centennial Apartments at 14406 East Fremont Avenue, not far from the Arapahoe County Courthouse.

They found a man in the parking lot and arrested him without incident. That man has been identified as Arthur William Price.

Price was booked into the Arapahoe County Detention Facility on first-degree murder, assault, violation of a protection order, obstructing government operations and harassment.

Detectives went into the building and found a woman dead in an apartment. That woman has been identified as Katrina Pacheco.

So far there are no details being provided about how Pacheco, 39, was killed, and investigators said they have no additional suspects in the case.

Amanda Henry, who lives in the apartment next to Pacheco, said that Price and Pacheco were friends.

"She did have a restraining order against him. They had had arguments in the past, and it had been reported as a domestic. She had voiced to me she was afraid of him, however they were kind of drinking buddies. She would let him in and then there would be altercations," Henry told CBS4.

"You get a restraining order against people and it's just a piece of paper. At the end of the day it's just a piece of paper," said neighbor Sariah Rainey.

Pacheco was a mother with three children. Her children were not home at the time of her murder.

"It's just really sad. Her kids are going to be lacking a mom and I know that this suspect in question has children of his own, too," said Henry.

An active investigation continued at the apartment complex on Thursday after daybreak and a portion of the apartment parking lot was blocked off with crime tape.

Price is being held without bond.
