FBI Wants Help Identifying Human Remains Found On Uncompahgre Plateau

MONTROSE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Montrose County Sheriff's Office and the FBI would like the public's help identifying the human remains found at a popular hunting and camping spot.

Dave Joly with the FBI said in a prepared statement that the human remains are that of a woman. They were found on July 7, 1994, on the Uncompahgre Plateau near the area known as Windy Point.

The victim is believed to be a white female between the ages of 35 to 45, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-7 with reddish-brown hair.

"Autopsy reports show this victim suffered from temporo-mandibular joint syndrome (TMJ), scoliosis, and lateral kyphosis of the spine. She also had dental work done," Joly said.
