Vail Chosen For 2016 Fly Fishing Championship

VAIL, Colo. (AP) — Vail has been chosen to host the 2016 World Fly Fishing Championships, when the event returns to the U.S. for the first time since 1997.

Teams of five from more than 20 countries compete in the contest.

The Vail Daily reports that the World Fly Fishing Championship is typically held in Europe. This year's contest is in Norway.

Before the World Fly Fishing Championships arrive in 2016, the juniors version of that event will be held in the same Vail venue one year earlier.
