Motorcyclist Killed In Crash Was Littleton Officer, Driver Faces Charges
LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - The Littleton Police department is mourning the loss of a fellow officer.
Officer Kevin Denner died while riding his motorcycle in Aurora Monday morning. He was on Belleview Avenue and S. De Gaulle Street when an oncoming car turned in front of him.
Denner was off duty at the time and police say he was wearing a helmet but it was knocked off by the impact.
Police said they suspect the 37-year-old driver of the car may have been drinking. Jemal Abdelkader Dawed was arrested and faces charges of careless driving, driving while under the influence of alcohol and failure to yield the right of way.
Denner leaves behind a wife and two young children.
