Colorado Troopers ID Man Wanted In Michigan Break-Ins

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - Colorado authorities are identifying a man who was arrested after a string of Michigan home burglaries targeting residents who were out attending funerals.

Michigan authorities said earlier this week that a man wanted in connection with at least 16 break-ins in southeast Michigan had been arrested in Colorado. The Colorado State Patrol identified him Thursday as 44-year-old Todd Lloyd Griffin.

Authorities say the so-called "Funeral Bandit" also is suspected of burglarizing vacant homes awaiting estate sales.

Griffin was arrested Monday after Colorado troopers were alerted that Griffin had been seen in western Denver. Troopers found his vehicle and arrested him as he was leaving a Lakewood business that buys gold and precious metals. The business owner told troopers Griffin had sold him nearly $3,000 worth of jewelry.
