Boulder Police Search For Attempted Robbery Suspect

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Boulder are asking for help identifying a man who is wanted in connection with an attempted robbery and unlawful sexual contact.

The man in the composite sketch is wanted for the crimes that happened on March 3.

The victim is a 20-year-old female who was walking alone near some businesses in the 4700 block of Table Mesa Drive around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

She told police she was confronted by an unknown man who demanded her purse and who tried to take it from her. The two struggled over the purse and during the struggle the suspect tore the victim's dress and touched her exposed skin.

The victim ran away and the man ran away. He was last seen running eastbound toward Vic's Coffee.

The suspect is described as a white man, 35-40 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9, 140 pounds with a stocky/muscular build. He was wearing a dark brown or black leather coat and blue jeans with black tennis shoes and white shoelaces.

He had a scruffy beard and dark, matted hair. He also had a badly chipped front tooth.

The case number is 13-2831.
