Police Release Man Questioned In Aurora Woman's Murder
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police have released a man who was arrested Friday in connection with the murder of a woman in Aurora.
Frank Fania with Aurora police said officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 2300 block of Emporia Street at approximately 11 p.m. Friday. When they arrived they found a woman who had been shot multiple times. She was rushed to a hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.
"Police quickly learned the name of a possible adult male suspect that lived a few houses away, also in the 2300 block of Emporia Street," Fania said in a statement. "The suspect's house was surrounded, and he was arrested without incident after a brief standoff."
The man was later released. Investigators are re-interviewing witnesses as well as looking to interview potential new witnesses in this case.
