Colorado Electoral College Ratifies Presidential Election

DENVER (AP) - Colorado's nine electoral college voters cast their ballots at a ceremony at the state Capitol to ratify the results of the presidential race.

The voters were joined Monday by Gov. John Hickenlooper, Secretary of State Scott Gessler and Colorado Supreme Court Justice Michael Bender.

When voters cast their votes in November, they were actually voting for the slate of electors that were chosen to represent that ticket in the Electoral College. President Barack Obama won Colorado for the second time on his way to re-election.

Colorado is entitled to nine electors because it has two members of the U.S. Senate and seven members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
