David Clifton Ministries Holds Annual Toy Giveaway

DENVER (CBS4) - Christmas wishes came true for some families in need this weekend thanks to a few Good Samaritans.

It was is the 17th year for the Toy Giveaway. The David Clifton Ministries collects toys all year and then gives them away on a first come, first served basis.

The event is about more than just toys. Volunteers also gave out sandwiches and hot drinks in front of City Hall in downtown Denver.

"Christmas is the time of giving, and people like to celebrate Jesus' birthday, and that's what we're doing," Clifton said. "We've got people from all different locations and cultures and backgrounds that had a need to receive gifts."

In addition to the gift giveaway, families were treated to a horse drawn wagon ride through the streets of downtown.
