Ann Romney Hopes To Connect With Colorado Women

LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4)- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's wife joined him in campaigning in the days leading up to the presidential debate at the University of Denver.

Ann Romney spoke to a crowd of mostly women at the Hudson Gardens in Littleton on Tuesday. She used the opportunity to tout her husband's plan to get the nation back on track.

"In Colorado, you know you need someone that has compassion and the capacity to understand and has the solutions to get the job done," said Ann Romney. "One thing I know about Mitt, he doesn't fail."

After her public appearance, Ann Romney had the opportunity to sit down with CBS4's Karen Leigh. They discussed the messages not getting across to voters about her husband.

"I think he cares," said Ann Romney. "People obviously know him as a businessman, the Governor of Massachusetts. What they don't know is what kind of caring individual he's been."

When asked if she thought people would know him better after the debate, Ann responded, "I hope so."

"(They will) hear that he has solutions and he has given this a great deal of thought and he's lived his life in such a way that's prepared him for this moment," said Ann Romney.
