Boulder Closes Popular Park After Bear Climbs Tree
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Officials in Boulder are keeping a close eye on a bear who has climbed a tree in a popular park on the west end of town.
The bear climbed the tree sometime Thursday morning on the east side of Eben G. Fine Park. It's believed the bear has recently been rummaging through neighborhood trash cans looking for food.
In addition to closing the park, the Boulder Creek Path is closed in the stretch that runs through the park. That section of trail transitions from downtown into Boulder Canyon.
At 1:30 p.m. the bear was still up in the tree.
