Vail Gets OK For Adventure Ridge Summer Additions

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) — Vail Mountain says the U.S. Forest Service has approved its proposal to add a 1,000-foot long zip line, aerial ropes courses, a climbing wall and summer tubing to the ski resort's mountaintop Adventure Ridge area.

Vail Resorts Inc., which operates Vail Mountain, says it hopes to start construction this fall with the goal of offering the activities next summer.

The additions are separate from the company's broader Epic Discovery summer activities expansion plan, which envisions adding SUV tours, alpine coasters and more on a much greater area of the resort for the summer of 2014.
