Hearing Set For Soldier In Barracks Slaying
FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) -- A pretrial hearing is scheduled in the case of a soldier charged with murder in the death of another soldier at Fort Carson.
Sgt. Vincinte L. Jackson is accused of killing 28-year-old Spc. Brandy Fonteneaux in January at the infantry post outside Fort Carson.
Jackson will have a hearing Friday to determine whether he should face a court-martial.
Charging documents say Fonteneaux was choked and stabbed with a knife sometime between Jan. 6 and Jan. 8. Her body was found in her barracks on Jan. 8.
If convicted, Jackson faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole and a dishonorable discharge.
Jackson's attorneys declined to comment.
