Bison Herd Plan Along Highway 36 Rejected
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- A proposal to put 20 bison next to Highway 36 has been rejected by the Boulder Open Space Board of Trustees.
The animals would have lived between the Davidson Mesa and Boulder.
Ted Turner, the founder of CNN, wanted to donate the bison.
The trustees said the plan would have been too expensive to build the necessary fences and take care of the animals.
The committee will check into other areas in Boulder where the herd may live.
