California Man Sentenced In Rare Coins Theft From Colorado Museum

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A California man has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for stealing nearly $1 million worth of rare coins from a Colorado museum.

Wyatt Yeager, 33, of Martinez, Calif., was also ordered to pay restitution at sentencing Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Delaware. Yeager had pleaded guilty in January to theft of major artwork.

According to a felony information, Yeager embezzled rare coins from the American Numismatic Association Money Museum in Colorado Springs, where he was collections manager. Yeager then sold the coins at auctions across the country and in Germany and Australia.
