Rally Held For Charter Schools At State Capitol
DENVER (CBS4) - There was a rally for charter schools at the state Capitol on Thursday.
Hundreds of students, teachers and parents gathered on the west steps. Charter schools in Colorado are now nearly 20 years old. About 78,000 students attend 174 public charter schools in Colorado.
"Not all schools are right for all kids, so we're really proud to be part of the public education system and to be successful in that," Stacy Rivera with the Colorado League of Charter Schools said.
Students also toured the Capitol and took part in student debates.
