Jurors Continue Deliberating In Dragging Death

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP/CBS4) -- Jurors in Colorado Springs are expected to resume deliberations Friday in the case of Detra Farries, who is charged in the death of a tow truck driver who was dragged by her vehicle.

Attorneys gave their closing arguments Thursday and the jury began deliberating, but left for the day without a verdict.

Prosecutors say that on Feb. 23, 2011, Farries drove off as Allen Lew Rose was preparing to tow her SUV, and he died after getting caught in a cable he had attached to her vehicle. Farries' attorneys have said Farries didn't realize Rose was being dragged.

There is a memorial for Rose where the SUV driver finally stopped. A portion of the memorial is covered up because jurors viewed the scene and attorneys didn't want them to be influenced by the emotional theme of the memorial.

Farries is charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident.
