Legislative Work Canceled In Colorado Due To Impending Storm

DENVER (CBS4/AP) - The first of what are likely to be hundreds of closings announcements in Colorado came from a pretty important place early Thursday afternoon -- the state Capitol.

The forecast for a major winter storm that will arrive on Thursday night and blast the Front Range and plains on Friday prompted Colorado lawmakers to cancel legislative work on Friday.

Lawmakers living far from Denver were urged to travel home Thursday before the storm hit.
