Vigil Set For 6 Killed In Eastern Colorado Crash

EADS, Colo. (AP) - A candlelight vigil and tree planting is being held at a park east of Kit Carson High School for six people killed in eastern Colorado crash.

The vigil will be held at Prairie Park on Tuesday night for members of the community.

Authorities said the six died when a van carrying schoolchildren collided with a tractor-trailer rig on Thursday about 130 miles southeast of Denver.

The collision killed the driver, Howard Mitchell, and five children in the van. Seven children were injured.

Mitchell and his wife operated a state-licensed group home for foster kids in Kit Carson.
