Colorado's Oldest Technical College Changing Name
DENVER (AP) - Colorado's oldest technical college is getting a name change.
Officials at the former Emily Griffith Opportunity School said Wednesday that the Denver Public School Board of Education voted unanimously to change the school's name to the Emily Griffith Technical College, effective immediately.
Officials say the name change will give prospective students and employers a better idea of the mission and curriculum at the specialized technical college and high school.
The school has the lowest cost per credit hour in the region and offers year round courses.
The school will be celebrating its 95th anniversary in September.
