DU Lacrosse Wins Conference Championship

DENVER (CBS4) - The University of Denver, hosting the ECAC lacrosse conference tournament showed Fairfield who's boss on Saturday.

Bill Tierney and the Pioneers were trying to seal a spot in the NCAA tournament with a conference championship.

Alex Demopolous across the center shot low to score a goal to give DU a 5-2 lead after the first quarter.

Early in the 4th, Demopolous scored again to give the Pioneers a huge 11-4 lead.

Fairfield came back in a big way. The Stags scored five straight goals, but DU held on to win the inaugural ECAC conference championship 11-9.
