DENVER (CBS4) – The Bluebird Theater landmark that’s been since 1913 and it will shine a lot longer with new light bulbs that use 73 percent less energy.

On Tuesday workers replaced more than 500 incandescent light bulbs on the marquee. It was part of the city’s Small Business Energy Assistance Program.

The new bulbs will save the Bluebird $3,600s a year.

The city hopes to expand its energy program to other small businesses.

    Every once in a while I read an article like this which reminds me we’re still a hole in the wall town for miners and ranchers to come and get drunk. Really? The Bluebird Theater changes light bulbs and that’s the news? Come on Channel 4, you’re better than that!
