Top Steakhouses In Denver

There is nothing quite as satisfying as a well prepared, beautifully seasoned steak right off the grill. Here are some ideas of places to get that -- some are straightforward, some come with a twist.
Morton's

Morton's

1710 Wynkoop Street
Denver, CO 80202
(303) 825-3353

Price: $$$$

High end LoDo tradition that is very big with the business crowd. Be aware that EVERYTHING is a la carte and pricey. On the other than, that doesn't stop it from being marvelous. Absolutely marvelous. Your digestion will work better if someone else is paying.

Elway's

Elway's

1881 Curtis Street
Denver, CO 80202
(303) 312-3107

2500 East 1st Avenue
Denver, CO 80206
(303) 399-5353
www.elways.com
Price: $$$$

Elway's (Both Locations) has quickly gained a reputation as Denver's Steakhouse. I'm thinking it's still a head-to-head battle with Morton's, but this one has the name to go with the product. (I know, Morton's has a name, too, but this is Elway for heaven's sake. John Elway. He of the Drive and the many other moments. What that has to do with cooking, I don't know, but there you are.)

Shanahan's

Shanahan's

5085 South Syracuse Street
Denver, CO 80237
(303) 770-7300

Price: $$$

Shanahan's is new on the block and like Elway's boasts the name of a former Bronco as it's "come on." Still new to the game, quality has varied greatly and service can be everything from right on the money to rude and forgetful.

Palm

Palm Restaurant

At the Westin Tabor Center
1672 Lawrence Street
Denver, CO 80202
(303) 825-7256

Price: $$$$

I love the sirloin topped salad here. I know, there are a lot of other things to order, but when I'm at The Palm, I'm looking for that. And, my face on the wall. It's not there. Don't bother looking.

Sullivan's

Sullivan's

1745 Wazee Street
Denver, CO 80202
(303) 295-2664

Price: $$$

A solid entry in the high end steakhouse category, Sullivan's has never disappointed. From its well rounded wine cellar to the classic wedge salad to the KC cut, this is one of my favorite places in town. You'll still drop a good chunk, but not what you will at some of the other joints. And I think the quality is right up there.
