Little prices, big bowls. So big in fact that if you call two days in advance you can take part in the Pho-King Challenge. If you can manage to eat two pounds of noodles, two pounds of meat, plus broth and vegetables then you get it all for free. If you can't do eat it all, then you owe $34.99. There is a second Pho 95 in Centennial.
J's Noodles Star Thai
945 S Federal Blvd.
Denver, CO 80219
(303) 922-5495

Unlike a lot of the other noodle shops on this list, J's Noodles Star Thai serves alcohol-beer and wine. Like a lot of the other noodle shops on this list, J's Noodles Star Thai sits smack dab in the middle of a strip mall off Federal Blvd. But when the noodles are five star and the ambiance and price remind you why you didn't go downtown, you won't care about the locale. The food here lives up to its name and the cook knows how to use spice right.
New Saigon Restaurant
630 S Federal Blvd.
Denver, CO 80219
(303) 936-4954
www.newsaigon.com
A slightly more upscale atmosphere and slightly higher prices than some of the other noodle shops on Federal, but no less tasty. Their 10-page menu includes a number of traditional Vietnamese dishes including noodle soups, noodle bowls, chow fun and lo mein along with a few family-sized dishes served in a hot pot.
Lao Wang Noodle House
945 S Federal Blvd.
Denver, CO 80219
(303) 975-2497
Soup dumplings: enough said. Lao Wang Noodle House has a long list of followers who adore the owners and their steamy soup dumplings. Other popular dishes off the menu of this Chinese restaurant? Pot stickers. Definitely order the pot stickers.
Dong Khanh Restaurant
333 S Federal Blvd.
Denver, CO 80219
(303) 935-2427
You'll know you've arrived when you see the towering pagoda leading into the parking lot of Far East Center, a two-story strip mall at Federal Blvd. and Alameda Ave. Once you arrive you'll notice a number of Southeast Asian markets, bakeries, restaurants and more. From pho to boba tea, Dong Khanh Restaurant has a large menu of Vietnamese dishes including its popular vegetarian pho and fisherman's soup. It's recommended that you go with a handful of friends and share a noodle dish along with the eight-item pupu platter.
China Jade Seafood
375 S Federal Blvd.
Denver, CO 80219
(303) 935-0033
China Jade Seafood may not be a noodle shop, per se, but their pan fried noodles push it on to this list of Federal Blvd.'s best noodle shops. As the name implies, China Jade does seafood right, so go with a friend and get an order of the seafood pan fried noodles and a hefty order of the bok choy. You won't be disappointed.
