The Colorado Department of Transportation says U.S. Highway 550 over Red Mountain Pass will remain closed indefinitely while workers are being brought in by helicopter to fix damage caused by a rock fall.
Rocks continue to tumble down onto U.S. 550 south of Ouray, and the Colorado Department of Transportation says the road will remain closed through the weekend.

There’s no estimate yet on when Red Mountain Pass near Ouray will reopen.
U.S. 550 south of Ouray has been closed in both directions until at least Tuesday because of a long-lasting rock slide.
