Semi Fire: Interstate 70 Reopens Between Georgetown And Silver Plume

GEORGETOWN, Colo. (CBS4) -- One lane of eastbound traffic is now getting through on Interstate 70 are between Georgetown and Silver Plume after a vehicle fire temporarily shut down both sides the highway on Monday afternoon. The westbound lanes reopened shortly after the fire.

The Colorado Department of Transportation tweeted a photo of a burning semi truck.

"Expect delays," officials warned. A little before 5 p.m., CDOT warned that eastbound traffic was very heavy from Silverthorne to Lakewood, with an estimated travel time of two hours.

It's not clear if anyone was hurt. We are working to confirm more information.
