Smoke Detectors Credited With Saving 5 In House Fire
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters say smoke detectors saved the lives of five people Sunday.
Their home went up in flames in the morning.
The fire gutted part of the home, causing serious damage to the outside as well.
Some of the people inside were injured while trying to escape, but investigators say it could have been a lot worse had their smoke detectors not gone off.
The cause of the fire was determined to be an improperly extinguished fire pit on a wooden deck.
