Aurora Hopes To Prevent Lead In Water Supply

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – The City of Aurora is taking action to keep lead out of the water supply.

The city is discussing a pilot program that would identify and replace any pipe that contains lead.

Aurora Water says about 3,000 homes in central Aurora that have old lines worth testing for lead. Those pipes could also be replaced.

The city already conducts annual tests on about 54 homes that have been flagged for potentially having lead. There were no noticeable levels of lead in the previous test.
