Protesters Join Others Nationwide To Reject Dakota Access Pipeline
DENVER (CBS4)- Hundreds of protesters filled the streets on the University of Denver campus on Tuesday as part of demonstrations across the nation to reject the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Copter4 flew over the protesters as they marched across the campus. Many carried signs and chanted in protest of the pipeline.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers decided to delay construction and said they will discuss the issue further with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
The tribe is concerned about contamination because the people depend on a lake and river which the pipeline would be constructed underneath.
Pipeline supporters believe it would help the U.S. become less dependent on foreign oil.
