Trump also spent a majority of his time slamming his rival, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in the traditionally conservative region of Colorado.

Trump told supporters that the limits should be part of a bigger plan to "drain the swamp" of Washington corruption. He said Clinton is part of the problem.

Currently, House members can serve an unlimited number of two-year terms, while senators can serve an unlimited number of six-year terms.

This was Trump's second visit to Colorado in two weeks.

After he wrapped up the rally in Colorado Springs, he headed to another rally at West Star Aviation in Grand Junction that was scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Trump's running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, is scheduled to campaign in Durango on Wednesday.
