Brighton Boulevard In RiNo Neighborhood Gets Makeover
DENVER (CBS4)- Brighton Boulevard in Denver's RiNo neighborhood is getting a makeover.
The City of Denver broke ground Thursday morning on a $29 million project that will add sidewalks, bike lanes, parking and landscaping along the stretch of road north of downtown.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock said the improvements will create a new gateway into Denver.
"We certainly want to create a more friendly environment going up and down Brighton Boulevard. This redesign and renovation of Brighton Boulevard is certainly going to create a gateway, a more beautified gateway to a wonderful downtown area," said Hancock.
The construction will include the area from 29th to 40th Street along Brighton. The project should be completed in 2018.
