DENVER (CBS4)– Xcel Energy has modified one customer’s bill when the amount due tripled after the installation of a new meter.
Dwight Hall called CBS4 to complain after his typical $50 bill went up to $144 in one month.
Xcel examined the new meter and said it wasn’t read properly. Hall’s bill was modified to $59.
Hall told CBS4 he doesn’t think the utility would have modified his bill without the story about the issue.
