CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) – The man who allegedly was trying to break into a home in Centennial early Monday morning, and was shot by the homeowner, has been identified.

Police identified the suspect as Trevor Cecchettini. He has been charged with felony menacing and illegal discharge of a firearm.

The homeowner said a man who “wasn’t making sense” tried breaking down his front door early Monday morning on East Aberdeen Avenue. He says the man started shooting at the house, so he shot back.

“I came out and a guy’s just going berserk over whatever,” he said. “Next thing I know he’s got a gun, coming to the house, shot several rounds through the house.”
