Landeskog: New Avalanche Coach Bednar 'Had A Good First Impression On Me'

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - Matt Duchene and his Team Canada teammates defeated Team Europe 2-1 on Thursday in Toronto, winning the World Cup of Hockey.

Duchene was the final player from the Colorado Avalanche who was still playing in the tournament. Nate MacKinnon and Erik Johnson were both back from the tournament and are expected to play in Friday's preseason game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Gabriel Landeskog participated in his first Training Camp practice Thursday morning after playing for Sweden.

Landeskog will be the team's captain again this year. New Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar made that announcement before the two had even met.

"I met him for first time yesterday at the Pepsi Center and went over some videos," Landeskog said. "He had really good first impression on me. It feels good and I think everybody's really exited for season. I had a good first skate out there today, and it's a lot of fun to be back here."
