Firefighters Use Cemetery Sprinklers To Fight Grass Fires

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4) – Firefighters responded to multiple small grass fires that broke out along Highway 85 in Brighton Monday afternoon.

The fires were burning in a strip of grass right along U.S. 85 near Bromley Lane.

Firefighters could be seen using sprinklers that were spraying at a nearby cemetery to help fight the fires.

Southbound U.S. 85 had to be closed at Bromley Lane while crews battled the fires. Northbound lanes remained open.

No structures were threatened.

It’s not clear how large the burn area was.
