Hickenlooper Takes Jab At Trump Prior To Candidate’s Colorado Rally

DENVER (CBS4) – Colorado’s governor isn’t exactly welcoming Donald Trump to Colorado for the candidate’s weekend campaign stop.

Gov. John Hickenlooper, a Democrat and supporter of presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, sent out a scathing tweet early Friday afternoon in advance of the Republican nominee’s planned campaign rally in Colorado Springs.

His tweet states: “Top 4 reasons Trump comes to CO: 1) Insult our 1st responders 2) Extol love of Putin 3) Refuse to show taxes 4) Pretend he’s qualified 2BPres”

Hickenlooper’s first point is a apparently reference to Trump’s Colorado visit in July when he blamed the fire marshal for keeping out thousands of supporters due to fire codes.

Trump is scheduled to speak at jetCenters of Colorado on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

  1. Mark says:

Who is this “Hickenlooper” the article refers to?
I didn’t realize Colorado even had a Governor.

  2. Ryan says:

Act like an adult. He is an embarrassment to this state. Very immature comment and one of the reasons the majority, not only of this state but the country, has had enough of the corruption that is going on with this country. Stop looking out for yourself and start looking out for the people you represent! We need to make this country GREAT AGAIN! Need to find another Governor for CO to be Great AGAIN!

  3. Go have a drink John. Maybe you can get some more young Democrats to become alcoholics.

  4. Not qualified- says the bartender who hires illegals. Always smiling. Always stealing. Disarm Hickenlooper. It’s just common sense.
