Cool Down Coming Should Slow Fire Danger

By Dave Aguilera

DENVER (CBS4) - On the weather map there is a cold front in the Pacific Northwest moving our way. Ahead of this front Colorado we have had a big push of west-south west winds bringing in hot desert air and boosting the fire danger in many locations. Denver made it to 90 degrees officially on Sunday. The record high is 92 set in 1951!

Cooler air will be oozing in on Monday bringing in 70s and a slight chance for late day storms. Tuesday will be even cooler with a little better chance for showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will keep cool for the remainder of week.

This could be the end of the 90s for the summer season as the Autumnal Equinox arrives September 22nd. Stay tuned.
