Teen Takes Shoes Off His Own Feet, Gives Them To Homeless Man

WEST LOUISVILLE, Kent. (CBS4) - A teenager gave the shoes off his feet to a homeless man, and now a photo showing the act has gone viral.

"Ron Ron," who's real name is Lauren Tunstill, was with a non-profit group that helps kids find their purpose when he spotted the man whose shoes were covered in holes.

He sat down next to the man, took off his shoes, and handed them over.

"He was poor. So, you know, I just did what I had to do," Ron Ron told CBS News.

The man, at first, said no, but Ron Ron insisted.

"Today a 14 year old from West Louisville, KY gave his shoes off of his feet to a homeless man!" the nonprofit posted. "While other 14 year olds are shooting and joining gangs Ron Ron is living out his purpose in life."

The photo of the Ron Ron's act has been shared thousands of times, and hundreds of people have commented on it.

One Facebook user encouraged that "everyone should send this young man $5.00 to start his college fund and to help him with school expense."

Since then, a GoFundMe page has been set up. The money will go toward buying Ron Ron a new pair of shoes, and Purpme a new bus to help kids do more outreach in the community.
