Nurse's Aide Accused Of Stealing From Patient

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- A nurse's aide has been accused of stealing from a patient and investigators believe he's done it before.

Authorities claim David Aldrich was captured on surveillance using a stolen credit card. He is accused of stealing a paralyzed woman's credit card while he was working as a nurse's aide at St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs.

"He helped me into the restroom and he said, 'When you're done, just pull the little cord and I'll come help you back to bed.' And because I can't walk, I pulled the cord and I waited and waited," said victim Jene Carey.

Aldrich has been accused of wracking up $1,000 in purchases on Carey's card.

Investigators believe Aldrich has committed similar crimes twice before, targeting an 82-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man last summer.

Aldrich had his nurse's aide license revoked earlier this year.
