Aurora Man Gets 26 Years In Prison For Infant Son's Death

BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) — An Aurora man who acknowledged causing the death of his infant son has been sentenced to 26 years in prison.

Prosecutors with the Adams County District Attorney's Office say 25-year-old Martin Fernando Holguin was sentenced Thursday for the Sept. 16, 2013, death of Aiden Martin Holguin. The father pleaded guilty to child abuse resulting in death.

Police who were called to a home found the boy unresponsive with a skull fracture and severe head trauma. Investigators say Holguin told them he head-butted his son because he was crying.

The boy's mother was at work during the attack.
