Colorado Native Trapped In RV For 2 Hours After Crash In Oregon

PLEASANT HILL, Ore. (CBS4)- A Breckenridge native was trapped in her RV for more than two hours when a semi crashed into her in Oregon.

The crash happened about 4 p.m. Tuesday about 10 miles east of Pleasant Hill, Ore. Oregon State Police say the semi was traveling westbound when the driver lost control for unknown reasons.

"The vehicle jackknifed, rode up the train trestle you can see behind us here, and is now stuck in position. The trailer, upon the crash, swung into the oncoming lane, striking an R.V. that was eastbound," said Sgt. Michael Berland from Oregon State Police. "I've been doing this job about seven years and I have never seen anything like this."

Breckenridge native Pamela Jane Herring, 62, was rushed to Riverbend Hospital in Springfield, Ore. with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Herring lives in California.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

Berland said speed may have been a factor in the crash.
