Father Who Allegedly Kidnapped Son Released By Police
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (CBS4) – Police have questioned and released the father of a 5-year-old after he allegedly kidnapped the boy Friday night.
Police issued an Amber Alert after the boy was taken.
Police haven't filed charges against 28-year-old Nicholas Ptak. They're now investigating whether he or the boy's mother actually has custody of the child.
Surveillance video from a laundromat shows Ptak convincing the boy to follow him outside. They got in a car and left. A few hours later someone told police they spotted the car in northeast Colorado.
The boy was found unharmed and reunited with his mother. CBS4 reached out to her but she didn't want to talk about the case.
